These paper cupcake cuties would make the sweetest handmade Valentine! With a few adjustments they’d also make an adorable birthday invitation, or look great on a scrapbook page.
We used a few different crafting tools to create our cupcake design, but with a little innovation, you could easily change up the design using whatever you happen to have. Use your imagination!
(The supply list below contains affiliate links. For more information, click here.)You will need:
2 pieces of paper, one design for the cupcake wrapper, and one for the frosting
Ribbon
Embellishment for the top of the cupcake (we used Prima Innocence 2 Flower #545963, and a small wooden heart we colored with a marker)
Tools:
Cuttlebug D’vine Swirls embossing folder
First, sketch and cut out a template for the cupcake wrapper and the frosting. Use your template to cut out the cupcake wrapper portion only. We will cut out the frosting portion after we run it through the Big Kick.
Cut out the cupcake wrapper paper, then run it through your Fiskers paper crimper to give it the look of a real wrapper.
Next, put the frosting paper through your Big Kick with the Cuttlebug D’vine Swirls embossing folder.
When you’re done with this, use your template to cut out the frosting
Glue your cupcake together. Then glue on a bit of ribbon to cover the seam
Top your cupcake with a cute embellishment. We used a Prima Flower, and colored a small wooden heart with a red marker
And that’s it! This only took a couple of minutes to complete, and it’s so cute!
