I’ve never really been one for New Year’s resolutions. And I’m still not, really. But I do think it’s important to occasionally reevaluate what’s important in your life, and readjust the course if needed.
Recently, I came across a Facebook post from Momastery, where readers were asked to imagine they only had hours to live. What would they regret?
One reader, Mary, who is battling cancer, had this to say:
“A few years ago I tried to imagine this scenario, as an exercise to see what I might need to change in my life, and I had no idea it was actually going to happen so soon. AND, the answers I came up with back then are completely different than the clarity I got from the real experience.
It is so clear now. We are called to be as much like God as we can be. We won’t ever achieve perfection, but we have to drop all the walls, the facade, and just LOVE. Without fear of getting hurt, and without wondering if our love will be returned. Just LOVE…
Women who are reading this and wondering what it really feels like- heed my warning: Life is not a dress rehearsal. It’s the real deal. Stop being afraid. Just be YOU. And feel proud! Don’t waste one more second feeling broken and damaged- regretting past mistakes, or wondering “what if?”
Find that light inside yourself and stop listening to the little voice that tells you that you are not enough. You ARE enough. Be proud of who you are EVERY DAY. And be thankful for every breath.
Just LIVE your life, and LOVE the people you love, and be UNAPOLOGETICALLY YOU!!! And don’t waste one more second on anything else.”
Aren’t Mary’s words powerful? They spoke directly to my heart. I’ve resolved to try harder this year to live without fear, love more and be “unapologetically me”. I recently made this printable”She believed she could so she did” for myself and decided to share it with you. My New Year’s wish for you is that you’ll live and love fully and without regrets. I hope you’ll print this message, and when you look at it you will hear Mary’s words and remember that you ARE enough. Here’s to 2015 and here’s to you. Happy New Year!!!

Such strong and wise words to live by. It is sad that something so tragic gives clarity on lift, we should all try to get there before it is too late. Wonderful thoughts we should all live by, everyday!
