Do you know what a Liebster Award is?  Don’t feel bad, we didn’t either!

The Liebster Award highlights new bloggers and connects them to an even bigger blogging platform.  We were nominated by the amazing Amie Jo from Life’s Little Projects.  Amie Jo is one of the sweetest people we’ve met in the blogging world.  Her blog focuses on family friendly activities, recipes, and fun DIY projects.  If you haven’t met Amie Jo yet, head over to Life’s Little Projects and give her some love!

Everything you’d like to know about Canary Street Crafts {Vicki and Amy} 

(Or maybe more than you want to know about us…you won’t hurt our feelings if you just scan this part, we promise!  Especially since the best answer Vic could come up with for one question had to do with her bra)  🙂

1. What’s the inspiration behind the title of your blog?  {Amy} Would you think it strange if I told you I had a dream about my deceased grandfather and in the dream he told me our blog name?  Because that’s what happened.  What can I say, I have weird dreams.  And sometimes I drink too much wine.          

2. What was your favorite TV show as a child? {Vicki} The Andy Griffith show, and I still love it today!

3. If you could be best friends with any celebrity, who would it be? Why?  {Amy} Probably Jennifer Garner and Kate Middleton because they seem pretty laid back and down to earth.  Plus they have kids around the same age as mine.

4. Why did you start your blog?  {Amy}  We have always spent a lot of time together working on random projects and crafty stuff.  When I decided to stay home full time earlier this year, blogging felt like a fun way for me to have outlet and hobby.  Vic likes to say I dragged her into it with me, but don’t let her fool you!  She loves it just as much as I do and we have a lot of fun coming up with ideas and working on projects together.  

5. Name one item near the top of your bucket list.  {Vicki} I don’t have a bucket list, so I guess the first thing on my bucket list is to make an actual bucket list.  

6. What is your dream vacation?  {Vicki} A trip to Italy, specifically the Felitto area where my husband’s family is from.  

7. Who inspires you the most, outside of your family?  {Vicki} Even though the question asks who I’m inspired by outside of my family, I’m just going to go with two of the most influential people in my life who have always inspired me and still do to this day, and that is my Grandmother “Honey”, and my father in law, Joe.  

8. Finish this sentence: After a long day, it makes me happiest to… {Vicki} Take my bra off.  

9. If you could have any super hero power, what would it be? Why?  {Vicki} Super-speed.  Think of how many rooms I could paint or dressers I could sand in under an hour.  

10. Why do you write about what you write about?  {Amy} We write about DIY projects because that’s what we like to do in real life.  We are far from being professional writers, and even farther from being professional photographers (why did we ever think it was a good idea to photograph our first few projects on top of an plain white sheet?  Yikes!!), but making things is what we like to do for fun.  Sharing our projects with you and meeting other bloggers makes it even more fun!

11. What is your favorite season and why?  {Amy} Summer is a close second because I love the warm weather, but Autumn is my favorite season.  Pumpkins, hay rides, camp fires, cinnamon-apple donuts..…just a few reasons why I love Autumn.
