We love using vintage graphics and ephemera to add unique details to our furniture makeovers and craft projects. Today we’re sharing our favorite places to find gorgeous, free vintage graphics.
We have a Free Graphics board on Pinterest where we pin any new graphics we find. If you’d like to follow us on Pinterest you can find us here.
The Graphics Fairy
This website is amazing. Literally thousands of free graphics. She has a lot of vintage ads that are perfect for furniture makeovers, and it’s usually the first place we look for inspiration.
Some examples from The Graphics Fairy:
1. Victors // 2. Jardin // 3. Roasted Coffee // 4. Cacao Payraud
Knick Of Time
Angie’s taste is spot on, and the graphics she offers are all gorgeous and easy to navigate.
Some examples from Knick Of Time:
1. Clocks // 2. Italian Ad // 3. Knox Gelatine // 4. Specialite
The New York Public Library Digital Collections
This website can be a little overwhelming because of it’s size. There aren’t many advertisements that are good for furniture painting, but there are tons of vintage photographs and documents that are fantastic for other craft projects.
Some examples from The New York Public Library Digital Collections:
1. New York // 2. Shoes // 3. Botanical // 4. NY World’s Fair
The Old Design Shop
This last one is a site we’ve only recently found. There’s some really pretty, unique graphics here.
Some examples from The Old Design Shop
1. Eau De Lavande // 2. Extrait Concentre // 3. Olive Oil // 4. Coffee & Tea Set
Interested in learning how we paint graphics on furniture (and walls, handmade signs, etc)? We have two tutorials. This post explains our favorite method for painting large graphics. And this post explains an alternate method for painting large graphics with no special equipment.

Hey Amy – this is a great list. And please feel free to make us something with the “Jardin 1914” graphics any time!
I thought you guys might like that one 🙂
Do you have anything mermaid
The Graphics Fairy has quite a few mermaid graphics. Just go to her website (there’s a link in the article above) and type mermaids in the search bar in the top right corner of her website.
Thanks for the great sources!
You’re welcome, Tricia!

I’m in love! This is fantastic!
Thank you for this list of graphics! I didn’t know about a couple of them and I have been transferring graphics for several years. Yahoo!
I have a project I have been wanting to transfer to for awhile! This is excellent information and has given me a number of ideas for that project.
So glad you found it helpful, Bethany! Good luck with your project :).
