We’ve been having snow and freezing temps here in Ohio and it’s more than a little depressing. Last week the kids had the entire week off school due to the weather, and today isn’t much better.
We’re so ready for spring, and when we came across these bags of pretty green moss leftover from another project, we decided to make something fun and simple that reminds us of the outdoors.
This project is super easy, and you only need moss, a glue gun, and whatever object you’re covering. We used a cardboard & sign, and styrofoam balls.
Simply pull chunks of moss off, put a little hot glue on the back, then press it onto your object. Keep working your way around until it’s completely covered. Working with moss is a little messy but if you lay an old towel on the table before you start you can just shake it off outside for easy cleanup.
I love the bright green color.
The moss balls are my favorite, even though my husband called them chia-balls (thinking they were like a chia pet) and said he didn’t like them. Whatev, Chris. My moss balls said they don’t like you either.
Are you ready for spring? What projects are you working on to prepare for spring? Hope you have a fantastic day!

Ladies, this is such a great idea! I’m always drawn to such things, but I never want to shell out the money for them already made. I can’t wait to attempt this myself! Thanks for sharing!

Love these!, such a natural way to add a splash of color. Does anyone know how to stop them dropping scraps over time? spray varnish?
Canary Street Crafts (Amy) says
Mine drop scraps too. Spray varnish might work though. If you try it I’d love to know if it works!
